Raquel is from Attleboro, MA and Gustavo is from Johnston, RI.  They have been engaged since September 24, 2008.  Here is why Raquel thinks they should win the NBC10 Free Wedding Giveaway:

“Gustavo and I have been talking about getting married for some time now. We knew we wanted to spend our lives together, it was just a question of time. Recently, on September 6th, my sister was married. I am very happy for her and her husband and they had a beautiful wedding.  Since then, my parents have joked with me several times saying, “please give us a few years to save more money before you get married!“ I know that that they are playing around, but I also know that there is truth behind their statement. Because the bride’s parents traditionally pay for a wedding and reception, I realize it would be tough to have another wedding so soon!  When Gustavo proposed to me, I knew that I wanted to make our life start as soon as possible. I dont consider myself a very lucky person, the only thing I have won is a poetry contest in the 5th grade. However, I feel like I have hit the lottery with Gustavo. I love hime very much and I cant wait to marry him. Maybe, with the help of Channel 10, my wish will come true sooner than later
