Kerry & Richard are both from Greenville, RI.  Here’s how Kerry says they got engaged on December 8, 2006: It happened at Rich’s work holiday party, in front of about 100 people. He had been planning it since last January and everyone knew but me. Everyone at his work already knew he was going to ask me even my Dad knew because Rich asked for permission first. That day Rich told me he was very nervous because his boss Greg had asked him to speak at the party about how he has grown in the company. At the party Greg called Rich up to the front of the room and Rich began to say, when I first started at Banker’s as most of you know I was coming from a totally different career, but here at Banker’s I have grown personally and professionally and there has been one person with me every step of the way, as he walked toward me. Then he said what better place to do this then in front of my family and friends here, as he started to reach in his pocket and pulled out a black box. As he got down on one knee people stared cheering like crazy, and he looked at me and said Kerry Lynne Sweeney will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?! I just looked at him, with my hand over my mouth, I was shocked and I thought I was going to faint, because my legs were shaking. Well after about 15-25 seconds of silence someone said say yes, which I thought I did but I didn’t. Of course I said yes and than everyone began to cheer, it was honestly the best day of my life.
