The Westerly Elks held it’s Mother of the Year Award Ceremony and Brunch Sunday, May 11, 2008. It was my honor and priviledge to announce Karen Barker the Westerly Elks Mother of the Year 2008. She is a mother, volunteer, officer of the lodge and our Drug Awareness Chairperson. Not only was she recognized by the Elks, she was also recognized by the Town of Westerly, the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations as well as the Senate.
