Elizabeth is from West Greenwich, RI and Joseph is from Exeter.  They’ve been engaged since February 29, 2008.  This is why Elizabeth thinks they should win the NBC10 Free Wedding Giveaway:

“Joe and I want to win this wedding not only for ourselves but also for our family. Joe has sacrificed a lot for his family and this is something I also want for him and I think he deserves. Joe’s father passed six years ago and at the age of 19 Joe took over his family’s mortgage and so that he, his mother and sister could stay in the house that his father had built. It has been very difficult on his family since his fathers death was very sudden. Joe has since then welcomed his nephew, Connor, and niece, Kylie, into his home. As time has gone on Joe and his family have worked very hard to get themselves back on their feet. Joe’s sister has recently moved into her own apartment, with her children, which was difficult on them all as the children had been there since birth. Joe has followed in his father’s footsteps as a union iron worker to support his family and I could not be more proud of him.
Since Joe and I have meet, he has not only supported his family, but he has also been supporting me as I have just begun my second year of medical school. This year I am studying in Biddeford, ME with the hopes of doing my clinical rotations next year in Rhode Island. The distance has been difficult for Joe and I as we miss one another, but it has also been good for us to be on our own a little and to realize how much we want to be together. My parents have also been helping me as much as they can through school, and I’m not sure that I can ever express to them how greatful I am. Being an only child, since getting engaged my parents have been feeling a little pressure as they want to help with our wedding as much as they can. They have already done so much for me and I would love to be able to do this for them.
Because Joe and I have had so much going on, we could only consider waiting until 2011 to get married and ironically Crowne Plaza is where we have wanted to have it. We had decided to wait not because we want to, but because it was just not financially possible for us to afford the wedding that we wanted now. I know how much our families want to see has have a nice wedding. All that Joe and I care about is being together, happily, with our family and friends
