Sandy is from Pawcatuk, RI and Brent is from Westerly. They’ve been together since November 2005 and engaged since January 6, 2008. Here is why Sandy thinks they should win the NBC10 Free Wedding Giveaway:
“Although I am so fortunate to have Brent, and can’t wait until we are husband and wife, we have had several bumps in the road. I lost my father when I was eighteen just before my high school graduation. He was my inspiration as I left home to attend a performing arts school in New York City. While I was in school, I felt as though I could not give 110% of myself due to the fact that my loving grandmother was also very ill and would soon pass. Life began to spiral out of our control as my mother was a young widow, and would not receive any finanial assistance. A a result, we had to sell our home and move in with my sister and her husband. Just recently, we found a charming duplex that we will soon be renting. Unfortunatelt, we cannot afford a home. In order to give my sister and brother-in-law their much deserved privacy, my mother will come live with Brent and I. God has given me a loving and compassionate partner to spend the rest of my life with. Brent has shown me the courage and strength to continue auditioning and follow my dreams. His love is more than what I think I deserve. Especially, because he is more than willing to share our home with my mom. Life has been tough for his parents as well, and we wanted our special day to be our responsibilty and not burden our family with any wedding expenses. We thought it might be fun and less expensive to go away and have a destination wedding. The only problem is that Brent’s grandparents are elderly and would have difficulties traveling far. I told Brent, that no matter how long it took for us to finally get married, “I would marry you on a mountain top. I would promise to love you and never stop. I would marry you in a field of greens wearing nothing but a T-shirt and jeans. I would marry you in the ocean’s breeze, I would marry you in the cold months that freeze. It doesn’t matter where I marry you, just as long as we say I Do.” This wedding would be a dream. Brent gave me the most amazing and memorable engagement, I only wish that I could surprise him with an unforgetable wedding. I want the world to be a part of our happiness!”
