Beth & Derek are from North Providence, RI and they’ve been engaged since June 2006. Here is why Derek thinks they should win the NBC10 Free Wedding Giveaway:
“We think that we should win a free wedding at The Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Crossings from NBC 10 and A Better Sound for one and only one reason. We are in the process of closing on our first house together and as a result, our budget is really tight. As a result, we were either planning on a simple wedding, probably with just the two of us in attendance or putting off a wedding for a couple of years when it would be more financially feasible. We were willing to go with either of these options but for one thing. Beth has the sweetest little eight year old daughter named Alexis. Upon learning of our engagement (I couldn’t tell her in advance, as she would have told everybody she could find about my surprise plans), Alexis is very excited to participate in the wedding. She wants to wear the same dress as her mom, walk down the aisle with the rings, ride in the limo, get pretty flowers and everything else. Since Alexis is so excited and determined to participate in a wedding, we have decided to have a more traditional wedding with Alexis being completely involved. We cant bear the thought of not having her with us and involved in this wedding. Unfortunately, we will have to wait some time to make this happen. It is my dream to marry the best girl I could ever hope to meet with her little girl there in attendance along with the rest of our families. That is my story!”
