“I think we should win this free wedding because we can’t set a date because of financial situations. Like anyone, we have a mortgage, a child, 2 cars, a typical lifestyle. But my main concern is at my wedding I asked my grandfather to give me away. My grandfather has pretty much raised me growing up and has been a father to me my whole life. He has done everything for me and we are exeptionally close. Last year he was diagnosed with siroccos. The past year he has been going to the hospital every other week to be “Tapped.“ This is a process in the ultrasound dept where they have to stick a needle in his stomach to drain him. He is filled with fluid so badly that he can’t breathe. I knew he was sick, and when your liver is gone, that it. 2 nights ago, my grandmother told me that he finally came out and told her that 7 months ago the doctors told him he had 6 months to a year to live. My grandfather, the stubborn man that he is, told the MD not to tell any of his family because he didn’t want us to worry. Now, that it is getting closer to “6monts- 1 year” he is getting nervous and ended up telling her. Now, not only am I goning to be lost without him, but he won’t be around to give me away. If I were to win this wedding, it would be close enough that he would have that chance to give me away. “
