Jennifer & Stephen are from Warwick, RI and they’ve been engaged since May 7, 2008. Here is why Stephen thinks they should win the NBC10 Free Wedding Giveaway:
“Ours is a story of how one broken heart, brought two other hearts together. My youngest sister, Allison, became sick in September of 2006 and after much testing, it was determined that she had a potentially fatal heart disease. This illness was considered hereditary and so, I and all my siblings needed to be tested.
My Mom suggested I go see her doctor which I did. While there, I had some blood work done by the phlebotomist in her office. When I got home, Mom asked how I liked her - she meant the doctor. I said I thought she was “hot” and my Mom said “The Doctor?“, and I said no - the lab tech!! As it turned out, I needed some fasting blood work so of course, I returned the next day the lab was open - Monday. On Wednesday, the lab tech, Jenn, called our house to tell my Mom that the flu vaccine was available so I should come back in. We all had a good laugh over that one because they didn’t offer the flu vaccine to the other members of the family who also went to this doctor! I went back again for my flu shot and had hoped to get her phone number. Unfortunately, she was called away by the doctor but on my way out, the nurse ran out to the parking lot to give me Jenn’s phone number. The girls in the office all said that the minute I walked in the office, they knew that Jenn would end up marrying me. I guess the nurse was just trying to help us along! I called and we set up our first date, which was to Spain in Cranston. I knew from that day that she was the one! Jenn has a little boy who is 4 years old; sadly, his father has passed away. Some thought that I shouldn’t get involved with a woman with a young child but in fact, it makes me love her even more. She is the kindest, most loving and caring woman I know. I would like to be able to give the girl of my dreams, the wedding of her dreams. More than anything, I want to be a great husband to Jenn and a great dad to Cameron. By the way, the rest of the family tested negative and after having a pacemaker implanted at Children’s Hospital in Boston, and some medication, I am happy to report that my sister is doing great!“
