Amy & Michael are from Taunton, MA and have been engaged since February 14, 2008. Here’s why Michael thinks they should win the NBC10 Free Wedding Giveaway:
“My fiancee & I have been threw so much things during our 4 years together; some bad and deffiantly good times. As you know with the loss of my grandfather, my fiancee also had a huge loss. About 3 years ago, her father passed away at the age of 45 and she didnt no what to do, she was such a wreck because it was so sudden but yet for me, I knew my grandfather was dying so I was somewhat ready. I tried to help her in every way I could and just be there like someone you love would to help her back up from falling. We been threw tragedies along the way but we were always there to help eachother back up, even if it was only one foot at a time. With myself there has been some obstacles along the way that didnt help either. I was going to school for Culinary/Baking in College. I finished my 1st year but didnt go back for my second because of finacial problems. Which then turned into more problems. When it comes to me, I always put everyone else before myself. If it was helping to pay rent, car insurance, electric, food, etc for my parents, I was always there to give them the money when they needed it and sometimes I didnt even want anything back in return. Or if it was my relatives, I would get everyone something for christmas and even send out birthday and Anniversary cards letting them know I love them and didnt forget!. So, when it came for me to do something for myself or even bills I had nothing left. Also, the fact that I spend at least a thousand on my parents 25th Anniversary party this past year. It was really hard on me but I really wanted to make this a special day they wouldnt forget. Also with my old car not working and having to get a new one. My grandmother loaned me a huge amount for it, that needs to be paid back; understandable. But, knowing that bills will be stacking up, loans for car and schools for both of us adding up, plus the total of having a expensive and beautiful wedding wouldnt be in our budget at all. I would want to show my grandfather I married the girl of my dreams and had the most amazing wedding, but know I wont be able too! If I get married anytime soon or even down the road, it wouldnt be what I hoped for because we wouldnt be able to afford the wedding of our dreams!! But knowing that I always put people before myself and want to make sure there stable before myself, makes me happy but knowing I wont have the wedding we always wanted breaks my heart!!“
