Erica & James are both from Bristol, RI.  Erica describes how James popped the question in May of 2003: I had come home from my weekend job and was laying down when he came home and asked me if I would go for a walk with him by the water. I said no because I was mad at him from a fight we had the night before. He then came back in the room 5 minutes later and told me he needed my help in taking something out of his truck. So I got up all mad complaining and stomped outside to his truck. I then looked at him and said yeah so what did you need help with. He then pulled out a box and asked me to open it. Before I opened it he told me that it was my gift for our 4 year anniversary and that he was sorry that it wasn’t here on time but it was still being made. So I opened it and it was a bracelet with my name on it that you get from the Hallmark store. I looked at him and didn’t quite know what to say because I didn’t want to hurt his feelings so I told him how nice it was. He laughed and then said I’m just kidding here is the real thing. So I opened it and there was the most beautiful ring that I’ve ever saw. I looked at it and then looked at him and said yeah right okay what’s going on. He then went into how much he loved me and couldn’t live without me and asked me to marry him. I didn’t believe him at first it took a little convinicing from him before I actually believed him. Now feeling bad because I gave him a hard time and he had to propose outside in front of our house instead of the water like he wanted to I of course said yes.
