Sandra & David are both from Pawtucket, RI. Here is the story of how they got engaged on 5/19/07: David went to the Art Institute of Philadelphia. He has always talked to me about Philadelphia and how great it is. So, I had been through a rough semester of school and work. It had finally ended and we decided that we just wanted to get away for the weekend. So David planned a weekend getaway so that he could show me the art institute, do some shopping, try some Lorenzo’s pizza, and of course try gino’s philli cheesesteak. So off we went and we arrived at the cutest bread n breakfast. We got there on a Friday night and we decided to go for a walk, grab some dinner and call it a night. On Saturday morning we walked to the Art museum and I can picture how beautiful of a day it was. We walked for a good 30 minutes just talking and walking hand and hand. We finally reached the museum where “Rocky” ran up the stairs. David told me that this was my chance to run up the stairs. So I did while he sang the “rocky” song and videotaped. I finally reached the top and David joined me and said the following. “Eleven years ago I stood here at this same place I looked over the city and realized WOW I am no longer a kid, I am now an adult. So what a better place than to be here with you and start to be a man. Sandra will you marry me?” Now I was extremely stunned because throughout this whole trip, David was getting very nostalgic. He kept telling me about the times w/ him and his friends. So at the beginning of this I thought that he was going into a story and I was actually going to interrupt him, until I realized and all I remember is when he said the “man” part of it. Then that is when my whole body started shaking and my hands went straight to my mouth and tears started to shed. I said yes!!! Of course, he is my best friend, my coworker, my soulmate.
