Carolina & Sergio are both from Pawtucket RI.  Here is the story of how Sergio “popped the question”:  Well, it was an ordinary day like no other. But at the same time it wasn’t. Sergio wanted to propose a since a year ago, but there were many situations that made it difficult. My mother had been very ill and couldn’t work anymore. I had to stop going to school for awhile and just work. My sister and I helped and supported her until she finally got better this past summer. His father has also has been very ill with diabetes and has a bad heart. He’s on a heart transplant list. Sergio also had to step it up as the oldest sibling of 4 and help take care of his whole family. He wanted to propose and have it be a a big surprise. He wanted to plan something big. This past July on Monday night we were at my sister and brother - in- law’s home. They had just bought there first home so we were there helping them paint some of the rooms. I was completely covered in paint, had no make up on and my hair was a mess. All of a sudden I saw Sergio turn red, shaking, and he was hyperventilating. I asked hime if he was ok and he said that he needed to show me something. Then he got on one knee,opened a box and there was a ring. I didn’t even let him give a speech I just leaped on him. My mother, sister, one of his sisters, my best friend and her mother were there. Everyone was crying, laughing and jumping. I probably wasn’t in my best attire at all, but that was one of days I felt most beautiful. No flowers, no fancy dinner, etc. July 23rd was the most ordinary night, but fascinating night. Sergio and some of the people that are most important in our life were there.
